Regular readers of this blog will not doubt be familiar with my position on driverless car technology and my call for the State of Texas to revoke laws which require a human operator to be in control of the vehicle.
Recently, I was contacted by someone who has developed an interesting infographic on the subject. In addition to saving 30,000 plus lives a year and the reduction in pollution, think about the other possibilities of this technology:
- Door to door safe drop off and pickup of kids at a school.
- A four to six-fold increase in thoroughfare throughput.
- More one-car families and increased in temporary rentals/taxi services.
