One of my all time favorite movies is 1776. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it. It is great fun and is fairly historically accurate. (Except for the singing delegates to the Second Continental Congress, of course.)
This is the opening number where John Adams berates his fellow members for not considering independence.
In my mind I imagine it will be very much like this, if I am elected to the Texas State Senate!
