To the voters of Texas State Senate District 8:

I am making this public. If I ever vote for increasing the tax burden or increasing spending, I will turn in my letter of resignation to the Texas Senate within 24 hours.

If I fail to do this, I expect voters to vote against me at the next election, since I clearly cannot be trusted.

In Liberty,

Very good letter;promotes trust. It also has been suggested that Republican Candidates be asked to “sign” that they totally support and will act accordingly….the Republican Platform. Of Course ! it has not nor likely will never be done. People are tired of candidates who say one thing and vote for what is good for their career or WHAT THEY WANT INSTEAD OF WHAT THE PEOPLE FOR WHOM THEY WORK WANT!

Thanks, Shirley. I certainly challenge my Republican opponent to sign on to my letter, or even develop one of her own.
